Synopsis

A gate to another dimension suddenly opens in Mikado City, allowing invincible monsters called "Neighbors" to invade. Humanity's only defense is Border, an organization that uses the Neighbors' own technology, known as "Triggers," to fight back. Four years later, the city has adjusted to the occasional attacks. Osamu Mikumo, a low-ranking Border agent, meets a mysterious transfer student named Yuma Kuga—who turns out to be a humanoid Neighbor with incredible power. Together with the high-trion prodigy Chika Amatori, they form a team to climb the ranks of Border and journey to the Neighbor world.
