Synopsis

Maomao is a sharp-witted girl raised in the red-light district by her apothecary father. Her quiet life of gathering herbs and testing poisons on herself is interrupted when she is kidnapped and sold into service at the Imperial Palace. Intending to keep her head down and serve her sentence quietly, Maomao's curiosity and medical expertise get the better of her when she hears rumors of a curse killing the Emperor’s infant children.
