Synopsis

Set in the Edo period, Gengo Matsunaga was once the legendary fire-slayer known as "The Phoenix." After a traumatic incident led to his retirement, he lives as a ronin until he is recruited to lead a failing firefighting brigade in the Shinjo Domain. Mockingly called the "Ragtag Hawks," Gengo must whip this band of misfits into shape to protect Edo from a series of mysterious, high-stakes arson attacks orchestrated by a criminal known as "Foxfire."
