Synopsis

Set in the 2020s, long after the events of Initial D, self-driving electric cars have replaced traditional internal combustion engines in Japan. However, a racing circuit called MFG maintains the soul of racing using classic gas-powered cars. Kanata Rivington, a 19-year-old Japanese-British graduate from a top racing school in the UK, arrives in Japan driving a Toyota 86 GT to compete in MFG. Trained by the legendary Takumi Fujiwara, Kanata aims to conquer the high-spec supercars of his rivals while searching for his long-lost father.
