GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There!

Synopsis

In modern-day Ginza, Tokyo, a mysterious portal known as the "Gate" suddenly appears, unleashing an army of medieval knights and fantasy monsters. After the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) successfully repels the invasion, they are sent through the portal to the "Special Region" to explore and establish diplomatic relations. Youji Itami, an otaku-soldier and national hero, leads a scouting unit through this fantasy world, encountering elves, mages, and demigods while modern military technology clashes with ancient magic.
