Synopsis

After a family tragedy, high schooler Tohru Honda finds herself living in a tent on land belonging to the mysterious Soma clan. When they discover her, they take her in. Tohru quickly learns the family's dark secret: when hugged by someone of the opposite sex, they transform into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. As she bonds with the cold Yuki, the hot-headed Kyo, and the playful Shigure, Tohru realizes the curse is not a gift, but a cycle of trauma and isolation enforced by the family's "God," Akito. She resolves to break the curse and heal their hearts.
